Kohl & Madden introduces Liberty™ sheetfed inks, a breakthrough technology that allows inks to stay open on press without drying for days with extremely low VOC's. At the same time, the ink will dry virtually instantaneously once printed on substrate. This virtually eliminates extended drying periods, cutting production time and handling, while allowing faster delivery of finished goods. Currently this product is available in North America.

Sun Chemical Names Rudi Lenz Chief Executive Officer and President
Sun Chemical, the world’s leading manufacturer of printing inks and organic pigments, appointed Rudi Lenz as its Chief Executive Officer and President, effective January 1, 2008. Dr. Koji Oe, President of Dainippon Ink and Chemicals of Japan, Sun Chemical’s parent company, made the announcement on behalf of the Sun Chemical Board of Directors.

Sun Chemical Announces Up To 12% Price Increases Due To Increased Raw Material Costs
Sun Chemical has announced price increases in Europe of 6 to 12%, depending on the specific products, due to continued and rapid increases in raw material prices as well as shortages of many key ingredients, mainly for pigments’ manufacturing. The increases, effective from November 1, 2007, will cover Sun Chemical’s complete portfolio, in all the markets in which it operates.


Sun Chemical Extends Project 37 Line with Disc Decoration Solution for Duplicators
Sun Chemical announced Project 37D, a single pass UV inkjet printer designed to offer CD/DVD duplicating companies an even more affordable digital system for the decoration of optical discs. Project 37D complements its sister product, Project 37, which was launched in June 2006 to provide a similar digital print capability for higher-volume disc replicators.
